Tracking and Reporting

The act requires regulated facilities to track and quantify the toxic substances they use and create, to develop plans to reduce the use and creation of these substances, and to make summaries of their plans available to the public. Regulated facilities are required to report annually on the results of their tracking and quantifying as well as their progress in implementing toxic substance reduction plans.

The regulation outlines the rules for tracking, quantifying, planning and reporting, as well as the timelines for these activities. While the preparation of toxic substance reduction plans is mandatory, implementation is voluntary.
