Understanding Prerequisite Programs

Focus Consultants Group offers a training program that focuses in detail on important Prerequisite Programs (PRP). The most effective food safety/HACCP program begins with developing programs that give you the foundation for the food safety program, and provides the building blocks for HACCP plan development. Prerequisite programs control environmental and operational conditions within the facility to assure the production of safe food. Examples of prerequisite programs include, but are not limited to: Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Hygiene Practices (GHP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Sanitation Standard Operation Procedures (SSOP).
